The Greenest Region of Quiche |
We are ACODERT (Asociación de Comités de Desarrollo Rural Temalense) was founded in 1992 by 120 agricultural members in three communities Estanzuela, El Temal, and Tzalam, all from the municipio of Joyabaj, Quiché, in Guatemala.
El Quiché is a beautiful land, full of traditions and a millenary culture. From our ancestors, the Maya Quichés, we learned agricultural techniques, from them we know to respect the land, know the elements and coexist in harmony with nature.
Our main economic activity is agriculture. We grow vegetables to export: snow peas, peas, and different varieties of green beans, in order to improve the quality of life of our members, and thus of the whole population of our region.
We constantly search for new activities to solve the needs and expectations of the farmers always looking for rural development. This is why we have promoted new strategies to achieve our objectives, to contribute to economic and social progress of the rural community, in order to incorporate at least 100 more partners to our association.
